KUALA LUMPUR – Investors looking to start investing in Shariah-compliant products, here’s your chance as Bursa Malaysia Berhad has recently launched its Kempen Saham Aidilfitri 2022 initiative.

As part of the Invest Shariah Retail Campaign, this initiative intends to boost awareness on trading activities for Shariah-compliant listed shares as well as investment products on Bursa Malaysia-i.

According to Bursa Malaysia’s chief executive officer, Datuk Muhamad Umar Swift, this campaign is part of the company’s various initiatives under the Invest Shariah Retail Program.

He said that this program’s goal is to attract retail investors to trade Shariah-compliant products on Bursa Malaysia’s end-to-end Shariah-compliant securities trading platform.

“At the moment, the Exchange lists over 760 Shariah-compliant products for investors to choose from. As an added incentive to promote these Shariah-compliant products, services, and platforms available on the Exchange, we are offering our investors the chance to win up to RM35,500 in Harvey Norman e-vouchers.

“To be eligible, just open a Shariah trading account and start trading with one of our participating Islamic brokers between the period of April 1 to June 30, 2022,” he explained.

This campaign is endorsed by seven participating brokers that offer Islamic stockbroking services. These brokers are Affin Hwang Investment Bank Bhd, AmInvestment Bank Bhd, CGS-CIMB Securities Sdn Bhd, Kenanga Investment Bank Bhd, Malacca Securities Sdn Bhd, RHB Investment Bank Bhd, and UOB Kay Hian Securities (M) Sdn Bhd.

In an attempt to boost trading activity on Bursa Malaysia-i, the programme will also recognise investors in the following categories :

  1. Overall Highest Total Traded Value (“TTV”);
  2. Highest TTV in Shariah-compliant ETFs (“ i -ETFs”);
  3. Highest TTV in Shariah-compliant REITs (“ i -REITs”);
  4. Highest TTV in Shariah-compliant ETBS; and
  5. Women Participating Retail Investors with Highest TTV

Members of the public interested in investing are encouraged to learn more about this campaign from the seven brokers, as mentioned above.
