KUALA LUMPUR – Yayasan Prihatin Nasional , Malaysia Literacy in Financial Education Association (MyLIFE) , Federation of Malaysia Business Associations (FMBA) and uLearnMONEY had organised the Keluarga Malaysia Webinar via Zoom and streamed on Facebook Live on September 22.

Riding on the theme of ‘ Keluarga Malaysia ’, the event aimed to elevate the financial literacy of Malaysia’s young generation and also to foster the spirit of Malaysian unity during such challenging times. The webinar was attended by Adjunct Professor Maxshangkar, Founder & CEO of Max Capital Management, Ms Amy Seok, Founding Chairman of MyLIFE, Mr. Brandon Ng, Honorary Secretary of MyLIFE, and Mr. KP Ng, Honorary Treasurer of MyLIFE who opened the sessions with remarks on the importance of instilling financial knowledge and money management skills within the Malaysian youth and lauded the efforts of the organisers for putting together a beneficial event for the young generation.

The Keluarga Malaysia Webinar was targeted to students from primary, secondary, and tertiary education levels. It was attended by more than 400 students from various schools and universities. The event also promoted the MyLIFE Food Bank & Youth Financial Education CSR campaign and invited participants, which also consisted of parents and teachers of the students, to donate to the CSR campaign to raise funds to help serve the needs of the community by helping the less fortunate to put food on their table and elevate the financial literacy of the Malaysian youth.

The first session for the primary level began with a presentation by Mr. Maximus Pheng , Founder & CEO of E2E Academy Sdn. Bhd. , where his topic will be ‘Master Money Kids vs Monster Money Kids’. The second session for secondary level featured Ms Evonne Chen , Practice Manager from FA Advisory Sdn. Bhd. , where she discussed about ‘Financial Tips for Teens’. Lastly, Abang Abu , Founder of Now Asia International Sdn. Bhd. , shared on ‘Money Management for Youngsters During Pandemic’ to students from the tertiary level.

Being one of the strong supporters and collaborators of the Financial Education Network (FEN), Keluarga Malaysia 2021, which was officially launched on September 14, aims to teach and raise the awareness and knowledge of all Malaysians on the importance of having basic financial knowledge, regardless of their age, race, and background. Equally important is to promote a united community and foster strong Malaysian unity.

One of the main events under Keluarga Malaysia 2021 is the Keluarga Malaysia Financial e-Fair , where visitors can visit interactive e-booths by exhibitors from various financial institutions on the SME e-Fair online platform. Among the other events to be held during the eventful week are the Keluarga Malaysia Financial Literacy Writing Competition , Keluarga Malaysia Financial Literacy Quiz Contest .

While Keluarga Malaysia 2021 is mostly finance-related, there are also non-finance related activities so as to gather a wider audience and participation. The Keluarga Malaysia Colouring & Drawing Contest will involve the participation of school students from various educational institutions around Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Sabah, and Sarawak, from kindergarten up to secondary school levels. Another interesting event that will be held is the Keluarga Malaysia Patriotic & Motivational Songs Singing Contest which has already started calling for submission since September 4. The deadline for all the contests is on October 5.
